Commemorative plaque with gilt.

Gilt with 24 carat gold leaf on a memorial plaque for grave.

Gilding is technique used in art, that consists in applying gold leaf directly on the product. The engraver artist Jocelyn Renaud uses this technique to his gilt.

In order to create a colour contrast on plaques, the gilt may be a solution. On a deep black granite plaque, a touch of gold makes it shiny and colourful. At Renaud Gravure's, we suggest you some golden patterns, or text that are stainless.

24 carat gold leaves :

Gilded plaque for a French order
("To our beloved father, his children")

It is the purest gold that exists, there is not copper, brass or metals. It means that it is not oxidizable, and the colour will remain the same forever.
First we fix a resine especially chosen to resist outdoors, then we set down the leaves. The French company knows how important it is to have a sustainable product, this is why it only uses 24 carat gold leaf.

Gilt on glass memorial plaques and granite grave plaques

The pattern, or the text, which has to be gilded, is engraved in the mass, as are all Renaud Gravure's products. Glass and granite plaques can be gilded. Some patterns are available in the catalogue in the software on-line.
On both materials the result is sustainable, and possible. It creates a touch of colour, of contrast. It will differenciate your gilded memorial plaque from the others.
