Other companies use laser, painting, serigraphy to create their funeral plaques. This will not last. However, engraving makes the pattern deeper in the stone, that is to say it will last. An authentic engraving is guaranteed more than 50 years.
Laser sounds also a good option. Yes, it will be precise and thin, as can be an engraving, but the laser burns the surface too superficially to be able to last as an engraving.

Finally, we only use high quality prime material. In other word we use deep black granite from India, the best granite for it's darkness and sustainability. We also use real glass, not an acrylic glass. Real glass can resist to outdoors agressions.
